Standard Consultation:

Standard consultations are booked at fifteen minute intervals. Longer appointments are available at patient's request.

 Home Visits:

Home visits are available for our regular patients at doctor's discretion. Please note that this service may not be bulk billed

Vaccinations:

Carlyle Medical Centre provides standard childhood immunisations as per the National Immunisation Program Schedule.

The annual influenza vaccine is available around April to May and is free under the National Immunisation Program for the following people:

  • People aged 65 years and over;
  • Indigenous people aged six months to less than five years;
  • Indigenous people aged fifteen years and over;
  • Pregnant women; and
  • People aged over six months with a chronic medical condition such as: severe asthma, lung or heart disease, low immunity or diabetes that can lead to complications from influenza

The influenza vaccine is still available to people who do not fit the above categories, but there will be an out-of-pocket fee invovled.

The Whooping Cough (pertussis) vaccine is highly recommended for adult household contacts and carers (e.g. fathers, grandparents) or infants <6 months of age at least two weeks before beginning close contact with the infant.

The vaccine is availabe free only to pregnant mothers under the National Immunisation Program. It is recommended that during the third trimester of pregnancy, the mother receive the vaccine.

Travel Immunisations:

It is recommended that patients book a long consultation with their preferred GP so they can assess their pre-travel health requirements as well as discuss any information, vaccinations, and further medications required.

It is recommended that a patient visits their doctor at least two months before travelling.

Skin Clinic:

The Doctors at Carlyle Medical Centre are able to check any unusual or suspicious freckles or spots.

If the Doctor identifies anything suspicious, they are able to take a biopsy and/or excise under a local anaesthetic. If need be, they may refer the patient onto a Surgeon.

If the patient would like a full body skin check, they will need to book a long consultation. Please advise reception staff when booking the appointment.

Minor Procedures:

The doctors are able to perform minor procedures such as:

  • Excision of various skin lesions
  • Insertion & removal of implanon
  • Suturing of wounds
  • Ear syringe
  • Venesections
  • Steroid injections into joints

Women's Health:

We provide a range of women's health services such as contraception advice, pap smears, pregnancy tests etc.
